Is it necessary to install a mod to play on a Pixelmon server?

Yes, Pixelmon is a substantial mod which requires a modified Minecraft client (often via Forge). The version most used and recommended by the servers is generally 'Pixelmon Reforged'.

How to start my Pixelmon adventure?

Right from your first connection, an interface will allow you to choose your starter among the different generations. You will then receive your first Poké Balls to start capturing wild Pokémon.

What are the key elements added by the mod?

The mod adds structures like Pokémon Centres and Poké Marts, but also essential objects: PCs to store your captures, healing machines and Apricorn trees to manufacture your own Balls.

Do the Pokémon have unique characteristics?

Absolutely. Each Pokémon possesses attack, defence and speed statistics, as well as natures and special capacities (IVs/EVs) which greatly influence their power in combat.

Is there a competitive aspect on these servers?

Yes, most servers organise regular tournaments, possess leagues with badges to collect and propose a turn-based combat system faithful to the original games of the licence.

Where to find the mod to join a server?

You can download the mod manually or use popular launchers like CurseForge or Technic Launcher, which facilitate the installation of modpacks specific to the servers.
