What is the difference between a classic Survival server and an SMP?

While classic survival can be competitive or solitary, the SMP privileges the sense of community. One returns for the atmosphere, the common projects and the friendships, creating an 'inhabited' world that evolves even when you are logged off.

What is a 'Vanilla' or 'Semi-Vanilla' SMP server?

A 'Vanilla' SMP offers the pure experience of the game without modifications. The 'Semi-Vanilla' keeps this authentic feeling while adding comfort tools (teleportations, zone protections) to make playing with others more fluid and pleasant.

Are my builds protected against theft?

Some SMPs rely entirely on trust and respect for the rules, while others use 'claims' (reivindications) systems. If you care about your builds, favour servers displaying clear land protections.

Is the server going to be reset (Reset)?

Some SMP servers are 'persistent' and keep the same map for years, ideal for megastructures. Others work by seasons to offer a regular fresh start to the community.

How to integrate well into a new SMP community?

Politeness is the key: read the rules, greet the other players and avoid settling too close to an existing base without asking. Participating in server events and helping newcomers is the best way to make friends.

Can one play in Crossplay (Java & Bedrock)?

Many SMP servers are now Crossplay compatible, allowing PC, Console and Mobile players to share the same world. Check the compatibility icons on the server page.
