What is the difference between a classic Survival server and an SMP?

While classic survival can be competitive or solitary, SMP prioritizes the feeling of community. You come back for the atmosphere, common projects, and friendships, creating an 'inhabited' world that evolves even when you're offline.

What is a 'Vanilla' or 'Semi-Vanilla' SMP server?

A 'Vanilla' SMP offers the pure game experience without modifications. 'Semi-Vanilla' keeps that authentic feeling while adding convenience tools (teleports, zone protections) to make multiplayer play smoother and more pleasant.

Are my builds protected against theft?

Some SMPs rely entirely on trust and respect for rules, while others use 'claims' systems. If you value your builds, favor servers displaying clear land protections.

Will the server be reset?

Some SMP servers are 'persistent' and keep the same map for years, ideal for megastructures. Others operate in seasons to offer the community a regular fresh start.

How do I integrate well into a new SMP community?

Politeness is key: read the rules, greet other players, and avoid settling too close to an existing base without asking. Participating in server events and helping newcomers is the best way to make friends.

Can I play in Crossplay (Java & Bedrock)?

Many SMP servers are now Crossplay compatible, allowing PC, Console, and Mobile players to share the same world. Check the compatibility icons on the server page.
